Big News, the 1929 Gregory La Cava newspaper journalism reporter romantic alcoholism Prohibition drugs crime melodrama ("From the story by George S. Brooks"; a wild story of a newspaper reporter who is fired from his job because he has turned into a drunk, but actually, it is all a ruse so that he can infiltrate a dope ring, and he does not even tell his own wife, so that no one will find out, but then she leaves him, and he still doesn't tell her, but after many complications, including a murder where he is the main suspect, the reporter breaks up the gang and gets his big scoop and wins his wife back) starring Robert Armstrong, Carole Lombard, Louis Payne, George 'Gabby' Hayes, and Wayne Boteler

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The card had pinholes, creases, tears, and some areas of paper loss around the edges of the card and some creases, smudges, scuffs, and a few pinholes scattered throughout the image. Overall, the card was in fair condition prior to paperbacking. The card was well backed by a talented restorer, who did not touch up many of the faint smudges and scuffs (and I agree with that decision, because to do so would have required lots of paint, which would have given the card a "heavily restored" look, and I don't feel the smudges and scuffs are all that distracting, and they help establish that this is a genuine 82 year-old original window card!). Obviously, one would prefer to find an example of this window card that had no defects or restoration, but I do not know if another example of this card exists (or if it does, if the owner would consider parting with it!). This card has had expert restoration and displays nicely.
