An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed 7 1/2" x 9 1/4" [19 x 23 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Susan Hayward (born Edythe Marrenner) was an actress from the 1930s to the 1970s. She started in the late 1930s, and became a star in the 1940s, and at an age when many other actress' careers started to fade, she continued strong, and had some of her best roles in the 1940s. Some of her movies include: With A Song In My Heart (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), I'll Cry Tomorrow (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), I Want To Live (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Valley of the Dolls, The Conqueror, My Foolish Heart (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Smash-Up (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), and Beau Geste. Sadly, she passed away in 1975 from brain cancer, and she was only 57. She was one of the actors exposed to radiation while filming 'The Conqueror', which may have contributed to her illness. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Susan Hayward! Also note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 7 1/2" x 9 1/4" [19 x 23 cm]. Note that our consignor purchased a collection of autographed stills that were collected by Leonard Sorgi, who was a unit manager for ABC for shows like The Soupy Sales Show, The Jerry Mahony Show, and many others. He was also Unit Manager for the Academy Awards for a number of years, and during his long and varied career, he met many celebrities and obtained autographs from them in person (often personalized to him). Our consignor (and we) feel certain that the autograph on this still is authentic! Condition: good to very good. The still was neatly trimmed to 7 1/2" x 9 1/4" (this may have occurred when it was distributed, or it could have been done after to fit a frame). Learn More about condition grades
