An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 8 3/4" [20 x 22 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a Scottish writer from the 1880s to 1930. He is known throughout the world as the author of the Sherlock Holmes novels and short stories (he wrote over fifty!). He was a great believer in spiritualism, and he and legendary magician Harry Houdini often clashed on this subject. Doyle passed away in 1930 at the age of 71. Important Added Info: Note that there is a copyright symbol and the photographer name "Underwood" written at the bottom. Someone wrote it on the photograph, and it could well have been Underwood himself, or it could have been one of his employees. Also note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 8" x 8 3/4" [20 x 22 cm]. Condition: good to very good. The still likely once measured 8" x 10", and someone trimmed the top and bottom borders (possibly to fit a frame). Learn More about condition grades
