An Original Vintage French Magazine (measures 7 1/4" x 10 3/4" [18 x 27 cm]) (Learn More) Europa '51 (released in the U.S. in 1954 as "The Greatest Love"), the 1951 Roberto Rossellini ("Directed by the one man who could make it so great!") Italian post-World War II (WWII) romantic melodrama ("Bergman's back!"; "The event and the performance the motion picture world has waited for, for four long years!"; "Would she lose her husband, her home? - Her answer will stun you!"; "Her first motion picture in four long years!"; "The performance she'll be remembered for most! Passionate and poignant - a many-mooded woman with a one-track heart!"; "The life she wanted could lose her a husband, a home... the choice she made will stun you!") starring Ingrid Bergman ("Achieving new depths of drama and emotion!"), Alexander Knox, Ettore Giannini, Teresa Pellati, Giulietta Masina, and Sandro Franchina. Note that Ingrid Bergman was in a major scandal in the late 1940s, when it was revealed she had had an affair with director Roberto Rossellini while still married to her first husband. This was at a time when such events could end one's career, and it was thought that Bergman's career was over. But she took some time off from making movies, and after a four year absence, she appeared in this movie directed by Rossellini, who she had married in the meantime and had children with. This movie was promoted in the U.S. with the tagline "Bergman's back!", and its story line paralleled that of Bergman and Rossellini's real life romance. Important Added Info: Note that this is a French magazine called "Le Film Complet", and each issue had an adaptation of a then current movie, with an image from the movie on the cover, and many small images from the movie scattered in the interior pages. It is like the "movie edition" hardcover books that were put out in the U.S. at the same time, except that this is a 8-page magazine. Apparently, the magazine "shrank" in size as the years went by, because we have seen mid 1930s ones that are 16 pages, and 1940s ones that are just 8 pages. Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: good to very good. Note that we have attempted to check to see if the magazine is complete and uncut, and we believe that it is. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazine. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images. Please bid (or not bid) based on that overall grade and by viewing the super-sized images. Learn More about condition grades
