An Original Vintage Unfolded Circus Poster (measures 28" x 42"; with snipe that extends the poster to a total of 28" x 51 1/2") (Learn More)

Ringling Bros and Barnum and Bailey Circus, the 1940s circus poster ("Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Gargantua the Great") featuring a great image of the number one attraction at the circus that year, two enormous gorillas! The modern version of the circus started in 1919 when the Barnum & Bailey's Greatest Show on Earth, a circus created by P. T. Barnum and James Anthony Bailey, was merged with the Ringling Bros. World's Greatest Shows. With weakening attendance and high operating costs, the circus closed on May 21st, 2017 after 146 years.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: good to very good. The poster has a large snipe glued to the lower edge that extends it (see measurements above). It has some creases and tiny tears along portions of the left blank border (partially repaired with tape from the back and it has a dot of slight discoloration). There is a tiny sticker behind one edge. Otherwise the poster has only very minor fold and border wear and it is in nice condition (and the image area itself is in excellent condition!).
