5 Bootleg [see update below] Marx Toy Figures (measure 3" x 4" x 6" [8 x 10 x 15 cm]) (Learn More)

Universal Studios Monsters (also known as Universal Classic Monsters) is the name given to the horror, fantasy, thriller and science fiction films made by Universal Pictures during the 1920s through the 1950s. They were the first shared universe in the entire movie industry. Some of the films include: The Phantom of the Opera, Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Invisible Man, The Wolf Man and Creature from the Black Lagoon. The "monsters" from these films have been featured in a wide variety of media and commercial products.
Important Added Info: Louis Marx and Company (Marx) was an American toy manufacturer in business from 1919 to 1980. The Marx logo was the letters "MAR" in a circle with a large X through it, resembling a railroad crossing sign. As the X sometimes goes unseen, Marx toys were, and are still today, often misidentified as "Mar" toys. Although the Marx name is now largely forgotten except by toy collectors, several of their products remain strong icons in popular culture, including Rock'em Sock'em Robots and the Big Wheel tricycle (which is enshrined in the National Toy Hall of Fame). Marx's products included tin toys, toy soldiers, Universal Studios Monster figures, toy guns, action figures, cars and much more.

UPDATED 10/12/2021: Note that a knowledgeable toy collector contacted us to say that these are likely 1980s bootleg versions (often considered to have been manufactured in Mexico) of the original figures. The originals came in orange and blue colors and should have "Universal Picture Co. Inc" and "Louis Marx & Co., Inc MCMLXIII" in the two round indented areas on the bottom of the figures. The bootlegs have blank round indented areas or in some cases, are missing the Roman numerals. The figures offered here DO NOT have information on the bottom and are the bootleg figures. Interestingly, because the bootlegs often come in colors not available with the originals, they have acquired collectible value. Please keep this in mind when bidding.

Condition: very good. The figures have minor general wear but otherwise they are in pretty nice condition!
