An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More) Jean de Florette, the 1986 (released in the U.S. in 1987) Claude Berri French/Swiss/Italian family relationship peasant farmers neighbor melodrama ("Based on the work of Marcel Pagnol of L'Academie Francaise"; about neighbors in a French farming village; one neighbor builds a dam to block the other neighbor from water and hopefully acquire their land, but the neighbor persists in bringing in water from the outside; this movie was followed by a sequel, also based on Pagnol's writing, called "Manon des sources") starring Yves Montand, Gerard Depardieu (in the title role as Jean de Florette), Daniel Auteuil, Elisabeth Depardieu, and Margarita Lozano NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was never machine folded. Most movie posters from before 1980 were machine folded immediately after printing. After 1980, it quickly became standard for posters to never be folded, and were shipped to theaters rolled in tubes. But this made it far more likely for posters to pick up minor (or major) defects, and it can be difficult to find an unfolded poster from the 1980s in excellent condition. Condition: fine.
