An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Kill-Joy, the 1917 Fred E. Wright silent romantic cowboy western comedy melodrama ("by C.M. Peck"; "Screen Time 60 Minutes"; an odd story of a western town that doesn't allow any women, but a man comes across a female orphan and he brings her back to town, and the townspeople grudgingly accept her, except for one cantankerous old man named "The Crab", who plans to have her kidnapped by Native American Indians to get rid of her, but she wins his heart over too!) starring Mary McAllister (billed as "Little Mary McAlister"), Granville Bates, James F. Fulton, James West, and William Clifton. Note that this movie was produced by "Perfection Pictures". This was created in 1917 by a merger of three legendary film companies of the earlier 1910s, Essanay, Thomas A. Edison, Inc., and George Kleine. We know that Perfection Pictures produced at least a couple dozen movies between 1917 and 1925, and we suspect that they also re-released some movies from the above three studios that were made prior to 1917. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. Learn More about condition grades
