An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe Autographed 8" x 10" (8x10) Movie Still (Learn More) Norma Shearer was the great MGM leading lady of the 1920s and 1930s. She was married to studio head Irving Thalberg in 1927, and that seemed to greatly help her career, and his untimely death in 1936 seemed to coincide with the decline of her career. But that is probably really unfair, because while her marriage to Thalberg greatly helped her get top parts, she did wonderfully in many major movies! Some of her movies include: Romeo & Juliet (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), The Barretts of Wimpole Street, Marie Antoinette (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), The Divorcee (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Escape, Free Soul (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Their Own Desire (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), and The Women. She passed away in 1983 at the age of 80. Important Added Info: Note that this 8x10 still has been personally autographed (signed) by Norma Shearer! It was obtained by our consignor from a woman who worked at a Hollywood studio in the 1930s, but he does not know if the autograph she obtained was signed by a secretary, or was actually signed by Miss Shearer. If anyone who is familiar with Miss Shearer's autograph will tell us if it appears to be genuine, we will post it here. Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock.
