An Original Vintage Unfolded World War II Poster (measures 14" x 21 1/2" [36 x 55 cm]) (Learn More)

A.F. of L. 100% for Defense, the 1940s U.S. World War II (WWII) War Bonds poster ("Buy Defense Bonds") encouraging citizens to buy defense bonds, and featuring art of two men walking to work! The "A.F. of L." in the title of course refers to the American Federation of Labor, which was the national federation of labor unions in the U.S., founded in 1886. An alternate organization, the C.I.O. (Congress of Industrial Organizations) was formed in 1935 to include unions expelled from the A.F. of L. In 1955, the two merged and became the AFL-CIO.

Important Added Info: Note that this poster is printed on a heavier weight paper stock, similar to that of window cards of this time period. It cannot be rolled and sent in a tube, so it will need to be sent in a large flat package.

Condition: good to very good. The card was folded near the top of the art, and there are rough creases on that fold and 1" of separation at the right end of the fold (see our image).
