My Man Godfrey, the 1957 Henry Koster romantic screwball comedy ("The scandalous saga of a butler with a very subtle buttle!"; "The scandalous saga of a lady in love with a charming gentleman's gentleman!"; "Based on the screenplay by Morrie Ryskind and Eric Hatch and on the novel by Eric Hatch"; "Produced by Ross Hunter"; "the maid went mad about him"; "the actress made a play for him"; "the matron tried to mother him"; "the debutante was determined to keep him for herself!"; about an eccentric ultra-wealthy family who picks up a "lost man" during a scavenger hunt, and he becomes the family butler, and causes great changes to all the family members, most notably the screwball single daughter who falls for him) starring June Allyson, David Niven (in the title role as Godfrey Smith), Jessie Royce Landis, Robert Keith, Eva Gabor, Jay Robinson, Jeff Donnell, and Martha Hyer. There was a classic 1936 version of this movie starring Carole Lombard and William Powell.
