An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Smuggled Cargo, the 1939 John H. Auer & Michael Jacoby orange growers crime thriller ("Lynching! The blackest of all crimes... The frenzied, bestial defense of cowards against issues they do not dare face"; about a group of orange growers who need oil to keep the oranges warm during a cold spell, and they are blackmailed by the man who can get the oil into selling him the oranges at a really low price, and there is much murder and intrigue before things are resolved) starring Barry MacKay, Rochelle Hudson, George Barbier, Ralph Morgan, Cliff Edwards (billed as "Cliff 'Ukulele Ike' Edwards"), and John Wray. Note that this was a standard crime programmer of the time period, but Republic Pictures tried to make it far more interesting by calling it "Smuggled Cargo", even though that was not really what the movie was about, and more deceptively, they played up the potential lynching (which is a tiny part near the end of the movie) on the movie's advertising! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
