Artist: Robert McGinnis Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: poor to fair. The poster had paper loss at the crossfolds and creases, scuffs, and tiny bits of paper loss on all the folds. It had pinholes, tears, and stains around the edges. The poster had been displayed and the reds had faded considerably, and the poster was also rippled and lightly water stained in many scattered areas. Overall, the poster was in poor condition prior to linenbacking. The person who backed the poster painted over many of the faded red areas, including the borders of the box, the bottom red strip, and some other areas. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
