(Learn More) Basil Rathbone was a popular English stage and screen actor from the 1920s to the 1960s. He is best remembered for playing Sherlock Holmes in the popular series beginning in 1939. Some of his other movies include: The Adventures of Robin Hood, A Tale of Two Cities, The Court Jester (in which he played a comic version of the role he had played many years earlier in Robin Hood), Captain Blood, Son of Frankenstein (in the title role), The Mark of Zorro, The Dawn Patrol, Romeo & Juliet (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film) and If I Were King (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film) to name a few! He passed away in 1967 at the age of 75. Important Added Info: This cut album page has been personally autographed (signed) by Basil Rathbone. It comes with a REPRO color image of one of the lobby cards from "Son of Frankenstein", and they could be matted and framed together to make a cool display! Note that our consignor purchased this from a reputable autograph dealer, and he (and we) feel certain it is authentic. Condition: very good. This autograph came from an autograph album, that had signatures on both sides. The other side of this page was signed by someone whose name we don't recognize. The person who owned the autograph album glued a small image of Basil Rathbone beneath his signature and wrote his name in pencil at the bottom of the page. It was carefully removed from the album. You can slightly see the autograph from the reverse side, but if it were framed with the page laying on a black sheet, then you would not see the other side at all. The REPRO is in nice condition!
