Blystone mother-daughter theater stage play acting romantic melodrama ("A love-hungry stage star cuts the apron strings of her managing mama"; "William Fox's first talking production"; "From the story by Edna Ferber"; about a stage actress who has an overbearing stage mother) starring Madge Bellamy, Louise Dresser, Anne Shirley, Barry Norton, and Albert Gran. Note that this was Fox's very first talking movie, and is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. That is a real shame, because it is a fascinating movie, because Madge Bellamy, during the portions of the film where she is shown performing on stage, she impersonated several popular performers of the day including Anna Held, Sir Harry Lauder, and Al Jolson singing "My Mammy" in blackface, which, of course, made sense at the time! Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good to fine. The glass slide itself is in nice condition and the cardboard holder has some minor smudges (as can be seen in our super-sized images).
