An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 10 1/4" x 13 3/4" [26 x 35 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Elia Kazan (born Elias Kazancioglu) was a legendary Turkish director from the 1930s to the 1970s. He began as an actor (including a memorable performance in "City For Conquest" opposite James Cagney), but switched to directing, and he is best remembered for his long association with Marlon Brando and James Dean, and movies and Broadway stage plays like On The Waterfront, A Streetcar Named Desire, and East of Eden. He is also sadly remembered for being a "friendly witness" before the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAAC), where he named names (and afterwards, when his longtime friends shunned him, he made "On the Waterfront" as a defense of his cooperation, except the cooperation was changed from anti-communism to anti-mob). He passed away in 2003 at the age of 94. Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 10 1/4" x 13 3/4" [26 x 35 cm], but it has not been trimmed.
