eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 5t0001 BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN herald 1935 Boris Karloff & Elsa Lanchester in full makeup, rare! Date Sold 1/16/2024Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 9 3/4" x 14 1/4" [25 x 36 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) The Bride of Frankenstein, the classic 1935 James Whale Universal monster horror thriller sequel ("The Monster Demands a Mate!"; "The monster thriller"; "Who will be The Bride of Frankenstein. Who will dare?"; the second of the Universal Frankenstein movies, and the only example I am aware of where a sequel is clearly superior to the original movie!; this is James Whale's masterpiece, and almost everyone agrees it is among the finest movies ever made, regardless of genre) starring Boris Karloff (as the Frankenstein monster), Colin Clive (as Dr. Henry Frankenstein), Valerie Hobson (as the bride of Dr. Frankenstein), Elsa Lanchester (in the title role as the bride of the Frankenstein monster, and also as Mary Shelley!), Una O'Connor, Ernest Thesiger (as Dr. Pretorius), E.E. Clive, O.P. Heggie, John Carradine, Dwight Frye (as Karl), Gavin Gordon, and Neil Fitzgerald NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that when Universal created this herald, they created two versions. They are exactly the same, EXCEPT that one is blue on the side that has an image on the right half and brown on the side with the full image, and the other version is the exact opposite! Note that we have only previously auctioned four examples of this herald (two of each color variation), and all four of those were folded down the middle (as intended). THIS example, which has the blue on the side with the image on the right half, was never folded, and that can really benefit the new owner if they want to frame it and display the side with the full image, because there is no distracting foldline (although either side is certainly extremely "frame-able"!). Condition: very good. As noted above, the herald was never folded. It has some darkening around the edges, which is not very noticeable on the side with the full image, but is more noticeable on the side with half image and half blank area. Otherwise, the herald is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
