Desiree, the 1954 Henry Koster France French Revolution biographical romantic royalty melodrama ("Now it's on the screen in CinemaScope"; "From the novel by Annemarie Selinko"; loosely based on the real life romance that the emperor Napoleon had before marrying Josephine) starring Marlon Brando (as Napoleon Bonaparte), Jean Simmons (in the title role as Desiree), Merle Oberon, Michael Rennie, Cameron Mitchell, Elizabeth Sellars, Charlotte Austin, Cathleen Nesbitt, Evelyn Varden, Isobel Elson, John Hoyt, Alan Napier, and Richard Deacon
