Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, the 1970s (produced by Irvin & Kenneth Feld) circus poster ("The Greatest Show on Earth"; "All new") advertising the appearance of the combined circus acts and featuring great artwork of a jaguar and animal trainer Gunther Gebel-Williams! Not that the modern version of the circus started in 1919 when the Barnum & Bailey's Greatest Show on Earth, a circus created by P. T. Barnum and James Anthony Bailey, was merged with the Ringling Bros. World's Greatest Shows. With weakening attendance and high operating costs, the circus closed on May 21st, 2017 after 146 years.
