An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Italian Locandina Movie Poster (measures 13" x 27 1/2" [33 x 70 cm]) (Learn More) Fantasia Animata MGM (literally translates to "Animated Fantasy MGM"), the circa 1950s Italian cartoon compilation. Note that the title tells you that this was a compilation of MGM cartoons, but we don't know if it was for a specific group of cartoons, or just a generic poster where the theater could choose their own. Also note that we don't know if this compilation was released in any other countries (possibly under a different name). If anyone knows more about it, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Italian poster! Also note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a light paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (it means that the poster must be handled carefully, as the backing does not give it much added strength, but it is similar to having an unrestored poster, and yet it has been properly preserved). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards. What IS paperbacking? Prior to paperbacking, the poster was folded across the middle and had minor wear on that fold and pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed onto a thin paper backing, but it was slightly roughly handled after it was backed, and there are now many creases in the excess paper backing at top and bottom.
