Date Sold 2/15/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Morals of Marcus, the 1915 Hugh Ford & Edwin S. Porter silent Turkey/England romantic comedy melodrama ("Charles Frohman presents Marie Doro in her greatest stage triumph, 'The Morals of Marcus' By William J. Locke"; "In Motion Pictures") starring Marie Doro (who previously starred in the Broadway stage as Carlotta; in her first movie role!), Eugene Ormonde (in the title role as Marcus), Ida Darling, Julian L'Estrange, Russell Bassett, and Frank Andrews. Note that this movie is noted as one of three shown to test audiences at the Astor Theater in New York City in red-green anaglyph 3D, making it one of the earliest films shown in this format! Also note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
