Written on the Wind, the 1956 Douglas Sirk romantic love triangle melodrama ("The story of a family's ugly secret that thrust their private lives into public view!"; "This woman in his arms was now the wife of the man he called his best friend!") starring Rock Hudson ("...as Mitch ... the woman in his arms was now the wife of the man he called is best friend!"), Lauren Bacall ("...as Lucy, faithful to her husband's name... even if she couldn't be to his love!"), Robert Stack (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; "...as Kyle, ...who hid his secret behind a bottle and a hundred million dollars!"), Dorothy Malone (winner of the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; "...as Marylee ...even a woman will find it hard to understand why she did the things she did!"), Robert Keith, Grant Williams, Harry Shannon, and Edward Platt
