Schenck, and Darryl F. Zanuck when Fox Film Corporation and Twentieth Century Pictures merged. They were one of the "Big Six" major American film studios for over 80 years. Their greatest success came when they distributed 1977's Star Wars, and its many sequels! In 2019, Disney purchased 20th Century Fox, and it was renamed 20th Century Studios. Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Note that this was published by The Nostalgia Merchant, which was a company owned by Snuff Garrett. He worked in the movies, and he was a poster/lobby card collector, and he thought there would be a market for posters signed by a number of then-living stars. This is one of several different posters he created and there were also many other posters he produced, each one devoted to a different theme or actor, and each one was signed by either one actor or a number of actors related to that theme.
We have heard from a knowledgeable source that it took over a year to complete all of the signatures for the posters. Employees of Nostalgia Merchant/Snuff Garrett would often travel to the stars homes or their offices, or the stars would come to Hollywood to sign. To sign all prints in the series took each star approximately 5 to 6 hours! Of course, in recent years, we have seen many posters signed by large numbers of celebrities appear on eBay, and the vast majority of them are completely fake, but this poster is 100% authentic!
