An Unfolded Travel Poster (measures 25" x 40" [64 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) TWA: Hong Kong, the 1960s airline aviation airplane travel poster promoting tourism to Hong Kong aboard Trans World Airlines (TWA), and featuring art of a woman surrounded by iconic images of Hong Kong by David Klein. Artist: David Klein Important Added Info: Note that the "Up Up and Away TWA" tagline was first used in 1967 and lasted about a year. "Up, Up and Away" was pop song most famously sung by the Fifth Dimension, and an advertising agency came up with the idea of using it to promote TWA. It was a hit but there was a lawsuit over the use of the song, and when that was settled, TWA had switched advertising agencies. We have only auctioned one version with this tagline before, and it sold for $285! Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has pinholes in the corners, discoloration at right in the blank border and some smudges at lower left (see our image). It is otherwise in generally nice condition and after some proper restoration the very rare version of this poster will look great! Learn More about condition grades
