DISNEYLAND (location) DISNEYLAND (location) special poster OR search current auctions Auction History Result 2s0433 DISNEYLAND 16x20 special poster 1970s Kaa tells Mowgli to trust him that costume fits, rare! Date Sold 8/7/2022Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Unfolded Special Poster (measures 16" x 20" [41 x 51 cm]) (Learn More) Disneyland (now known as Disneyland Park) is a theme park that was built in Anaheim, California in 1955. It is the only theme park designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. It was originally the only attraction on the property, but its name was changed to Disneyland Park to distinguish it from the expanding complex in the 1990s. Disneyland has a larger cumulative attendance than any other theme park in the world, with over 650 million guests since it opened. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a remarkable collection of six Walt Disney posters we were just consigned, and we have never auctioned any of them before. They are in six separate auctions, and each was never sold! They were posted in employee areas at Disney World or Disneyland, and they have images we have never seen before! They come to us from a former Disney employee who took these home after they were used, and he says that they are incredibly rare, and that he has only ever seen a tiny number of similar "employee posters" ever sold or auctioned, and that they sold for very high prices. Surely these are among the most rare Disney posters there are, and they have wonderful different images! Sadly, there is only one of each, so up to six people can own these after these auctions end, and no more. Best of luck to all who bid on these extremely rare posters! In the case of this poster, which is printed on a heavier than normal paper (but one that can still be rolled), it was posted in the backstage of Disneyland, in a fitting room, which was designed to make sure that the Disney characters (in this case, the "Skipper" of the Jungle Cruise ride) would make sure that his costume fit BEFORE he left the fitting room, because Disney didn't want any employees who looked less than perfect in their costumes! Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It has a 2" diagonal tear in the lower left that has a piece of tape on the back and a few minor creases around the edges.
