An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Style A Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) The Power and the Prize, the 1956 Henry Koster post-World War II (WWII) romantic melodrama ("Challenging Drama of Today's Changing Morals"; "Based on the Book by Howard Swiggett"; about an American executive working in England, and he wants to marry a European war refugee, and his business associates tell him he will ruin his future with the firm, but he doesn't care) starring Robert Taylor, Burl Ives, Charles Coburn, Sir Cedric Hardwicke, Mary Astor, Richard Deacon, and Elisabeth Mueller (billed as "Introducing Elisabeth Mueller"). Note that Elisabeth Mueller was a Swiss actress who rose to prominence in a role in 1954's "Afraid to Love". She was next cast in this movie after original choice Maria Schell dropped out, but after this, prominent roles became scarcer, and after 1959, she returned to the stage and never made another movie. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been machine folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were machine folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT machine folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: very good. The poster has never been folded and it is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
