What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was never folded. It had creases and tears around the edges, with a few tiny bits of paper loss and a few faint stains in parts of the borders. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. The poster is "lifting" from the linen in the bottom left corner (any restorer or talented amateur could easily re-glue that area without re-backing the poster.
