Learn More Condition: very good. The poster had a 3" tear in the right of the bottom border extending into the red background. It had a 1 1/2" tear in the lower left border extending into the top of the "B" of "BOGART". It had a 2" tear in the lower left border extending into the red background. It had a few other tiny tears and creases around the edges. The poster was folded like a U.S. one-sheet and had extremely minor fold wear. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the poster (meaning they backed the poster onto a gel material) and they then performed excellent restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the poster still exactly looks and feels like an original poster (and it is!), with no backing at all. You can see slight signs of the border restoration, but the poster displays really well! Note that the poster has a Danish censor stamp in the top left corner. The restorer did not remove it, and most restorers do not do this, because it is absolute proof that the poster is an original from the first release of the movie. Learn More about condition grades
