An Original Vintage Theatrical Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Empty Hands, the 1924 Victor Fleming silent Canada romantic melodrama ("From the novel by Arthur Stringer"; about a wild daughter of a rich man who gets in trouble and her father takes her on a hunting trip in the Canadian Northwest; she goes fishing and her canoe capsizes, and her father's engineer rescues her, but they are lost together, and although they detest each other initially, one thing leads to another, and by the time they are rescued, they are madly in love) starring Jack Holt, Norma Shearer (she was 22!), Charles Clary, Hazel Keener, and Gertrude Olmstead. We are not sure what the 'empty hands' of the title refers to, but we have seen a glass slide which is just a close up of a man's hands, so surely it refers to some key plot point. If anyone knows, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. Important Added Info: A talented restorer gel backed the poster (meaning they backed the poster onto a gel material) and they then performed excellent restoration to the defects described below, and then removed the gel backing, so that the poster still exactly looks and feels like an original poster (and it is!), with no backing at all. The restoration was done really well, and the poster displays really well! Condition: very good. The poster was gel backed (see above). This particular poster was never folded. It had some tiny areas of paper loss in the blank borders, but only blank white paper was affected. It had some darkening down the left 2". The poster was gel backed by a talented professional and expert restoration was performed to the above defects. The poster looks fantastic, and it has had truly minor touch up, and best of all, it still completely looks and feels like an unrestored poster! Learn More about condition grades
