Important Added Info: Note that when this poster was linenbacked, the linenbacker was almost certainly unable to find a single piece of linen that was large enough to mount the entire poster. So the restorer did the next best thing, which was to linenback one section on one piece of 47x63 linen, and then separately linenbacked the other section on a different 47x63 piece of linen. As you can see in our image (where we overlap the two pieces as intended when they were printed), the two separate linenbacked parts of the poster can be displayed together in this fashion, and no doubt could be framed together (although this would be tricky). Please do not bid on this poster unless you have read the above, and realize that you will be receiving a poster that has been linenbacked onto two separate pieces of linen. What IS linenbacking?
