Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Advance One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More)

The Last Starfighter (released in some countries simply as "Starfighter"), the 1984 Nick Castle video gamer science fiction (sci-fi) adventure thriller ("Alex Rogen was a small town boy with big time dreams. But in his wildest dreams, he never suspected that tonight he would become The Last Starfighter."; "He's got one extraordinary chance at the dream of a lifetime."; "Alex Rogan is a small-town teenager with big-time dreams. Dreams of college... of success... of marrying his girlfriend, Maggie. He's just like everyone else, except Alex has a very special talent... that no one on Earth can appreciate. But, tonight, a mysterious stranger has called on Alex. He's come from a galaxy that's under attack by an alien force. And Alex's unique ability is their last hope."; "He didn't find his dreams... his dreams found him.") starring Lance Guest (in the title role), Dan O'Herlihy, Catherine Mary Stewart, Robert Preston ("as Centauri"), and Kay E. Kuter. Note that this was the first film to completely utilize computer graphics to create spaceships and other visual effects, which had been thought to be impossible, and is now standard in movies of this kind!

Artist: Charles deMar
Important Added Info:

NOTE: In this case, the #1 in the title of this sale is not the actual style of the one-sheet (whenever we know the style of a one-sheet we list it for those of you who know which style you are looking for). In this case, the posters from this particular movie were not marked, but because we are selling more than one poster from this movie this week as separate eBay sales, we needed to differentiate between the sales, and we did so by marking them "#1, #2, etc.
Note that this is a rare advance one-sheet (note the "Coming Soon To Select Theatres." at the bottom of the poster). Note that this one-sheet came directly from an individual who worked at Universal Pictures in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. He received many samples of posters which he carefully saved. Not only are they in wonderful condition (practically brand new unless otherwise noted), but his collection includes some posters that are extremely rare, and in fact, he may have some posters which were only made as samples and never were generally distributed!

Condition: fine. There are some very faint creases within the image area (from rolling and unrolling), but overall this poster is in really great condition!.. Note that this poster was never folded. Most movie posters from before 1980 were machine folded immediately after printing, but a very few were left unfolded. An unfolded poster from before 1980 is almost always far more difficult to find than a folded poster of the same title, and finding unfolded posters in excellent condition is even more difficult!
