An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) The Green Pastures, the 1936 Marc Connelly & William Keighley black African American religious fantasy melodrama (depicting a "black heaven", where only black people went after death, as apparently discrimination in 1936 did not end even at the grave; the movie must be seen to be believed!) starring Rex Ingram (as Adam, De Lawd, and Hezdrel), Oscar Polk (as Gabriel), Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson ( as Noah), Myrtle Anderson (as Eve), Al Stokes (as Cain), and Edna Mae Harris (as Zeba) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this great image shows Rex Ingram with many angels, but some of the male angels seem kind of odd, in that one of them is wearing a straw hat and offering a box of cigars, another has a fedora and is smoking a cigar, and several in the background are wearing chef's hats. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good to very good.
