An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More)

The Hunchback of Notre Dame, the classic 1923 Wallace Worsley Universal silent Paris France Notre Dame Cathedral romantic religious historical horror melodrama ( "'Mighty Epic of a Mighty Epoch'"; adapted from the equally classic novel by Victor Hugo) starring Lon Chaney Sr. (in the title role as "Quasimodo", the Hunchback of Notre Dame), Patsy Ruth Miller (as Esmerelda), Norman Kerry, Kate Lester, Elmo Lincoln (best remembered for being the very first actor to portray Tarzan in the movies in 1918), and Winifred Bryson. Note that there was a wonderful sound remake of this classic silent movie in 1939, with Charles Laughton and Maureen O'Hara in the lead roles.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that there are two completely different sets of lobby cards for this classic movie. One is a 14 card set that is green sepiatone, and the other is an 8 card set that is full color (possibly hand-colored). All of the longtime collectors I have talked to are in agreement that the green sepia cards are from the very first 1923 release of this movie, and that the color cards date from a year or two later, after the movie became a massive worldwide hit (it stayed in first release for over three years, and was one of the greatest box office successes of silent movies!). I have seen several of the full color early re-release cards mistakenly sold as originals. The card offered here is from the very first 1923 release!

Condition: fine. a few creases in each corner and some light water staining in the left side of the bottom border. Other than these minor defects, the card is in wonderful condition!
