An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) Tarzan's New York Adventure, the 1942 Richard Thorpe ape-man-in-New-York-City kidnapping crime action adventure thriller ("You never saw anything like it!"; "Based upon the characters created by Edgar Rice Burroughs") starring Johnny Weissmuller (in the title role as Tarzan), Maureen O'Sullivan (as Jane), Johnny Sheffield (as "Boy"), Virginia Grey, Charles Bickford, Paul Kelly, Chill Wills, Cheeta (the chimpanzee!), and Eddie Kane NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. The still measures 7 1/4" x 9 1/4", but it does not appear to be trimmed. Also note that a paper snipe was glued to the back of the still, and then folded over to the front. This was done rather than gluing the snipe to the back, so that the snipe could be unfolded and the still could be displayed with the snipe unfolded, which would let moviegoers read the information on the snipe in the lobby (and of course, the snipe would be folded backwards, so it would not show). This was done with many stills of the 1930s, but often, the snipes are either partially or completely lost, because it is easier for them to be torn off. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE SNIPE DOES NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THE FRONT OF THE STILL! There is pencil writing on the back of the still giving the theater name and play dates where the still was used.
