An Original Vintage Unfolded Japanese "B2" Poster (measures 20 1/4" x 28 5/8" [51 x 73 cm]) (Learn More) the 1979 Japanese triple-bill release of Gojira tai Mekagojira (released in English-speaking countries as "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla"), the 1993 Takao Okawara Japanese Toho kaiju battling rubbery monsters science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("See the mighty Godzilla in a fight to the death with his cosmic double!"; "ALL NEW! NEVER SEEN BEFORE!") starring Godzilla (king of the monsters!), Mecha-Godzilla (Godzilla's arch nemesis!), Rodan, Baby Godzilla, Masahiro Takashima, Ryoko Sano, and Megumi Odaka AND Kingu Kongu tai Gojira (released in the U.S. in 1963 as "King Kong vs. Godzilla"), the 1962 Ishiro Honda Toho Japanese kaiju battling rubbery monsters science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("The two mightiest monsters of all time! ...in the most colossal conflict the screen has ever known!"; "ALL NEW!"; "Mighty King Kong! Might Godzilla! Now an all mighty all-new motion picture brings them together for the first time in the colossal clash of all time!"; "All New!"; "See! King Kong hurl an entire train to destruction! Godzilla's radioactive flame burn out entire cities! King Kong gouge out a mountainside! Godzilla snatch jets from the skies and smash them to earth!") starring Godzilla, King Kong, Tadao Takashima, Kenji Sahara, Yu Fujiki, and Ichiro Arishima (the English version also stars Michael Keith, Harry Holcombe, James Yagi, Byron Morrow, and Les Tremayne). Note that when I saw this movie in 1963 as a young boy, I was dazzled by the incredible "special effects", but I watched it again recently with my children, and I was amazed at just how feeble the special effects were! ANDKaiju Daisenso (released in other English-speaking countries as "Invasion of Astro-Monster" and "Godzilla vs Monster Zero"), the 1965 Ishiro Honda Toho Japanese kaiju battling rubbery monsters science fiction (sci-fi) thriller starring Godzilla (king of the monsters!), Rodan (the flying monster), King Ghidrah (the three-headed dragon monster), Nick Adams, Akira Takarada, Jun Tazaki, Kumi Mizuno, and Gary Graham. In this movie, Godzilla's character was changed from being a pure menace to Earth, to being the defender of Earth, and he fought Ghidrah and Rodan. His rubbery suit was made less severe and more friendly, befitting a hero (although he still accidentally caused much damage on his own). This proved very popular with audiences, and it was continued in future Godzilla movies. Note that this movie was made in Japan in 1965, but was not released in the U.S. until 1970 (it was released in some other countries between 1965 and 1970), and when it was released in the U.S. in 1970, it was not released by itself, but solely on a double-bill with "War of the Gargantuas" (and they put "ALL NEW" on the poster, because it WAS new to U.S. audiences in 1970). The delay seems to be related to the death of star Nick Adams and an internal business dispute with the U.S. distributors. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster has some wear along the horizontal folds and there are some other creases and scuff marks scattered in various areas and some of the defects are touched up on the front.
