A Slabbed Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (measures 9 1/2" x 12" with slab) (Learn More) Saturday Night, the 1922 Cecil B. DeMille silent romantic love triangle class differences comedy melodrama ("Showing what happened when an heiress eloped with her chaffeur [sic] & when a millionaire married his laundress"; based on a story by Jeanie Macpherson; an odd story of a wealthy engaged couple who each fall in love with poor people; she with her chauffeur, and he with a woman who washes clothes!; they cancel their engagement and each get married, but they soon discover that their differences are too great, and ultimately, the two couples get divorced, and marry each other's spouses!) starring Leatrice Joy, Conrad Nagel, Edith Roberts, Jack Mower, and Julia Faye. People were very socially conscious in the 1920s, and it seems that the point of this movie was to stress that you should "remain with your own kind"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this a movie paper item that was "authenticated" and "graded" by CGC, the famous authenticator of comic books. They gave it a grade of "fine", and encased it in a Mylar sleeve, with an informative strip one on border, and three punch holes in another border. Of course, the CGC's grading system for movie paper is not our grading system, which is why our grade often is quite different than theirs! Also note that this still is a key book still, mounted to a linen backing. Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic. Someone trimmed away the extra 1" from the left of the still. Condition: good to very good. The left 1" was trimmed off (see above), as was a slight bit of the top blank border. A bit of the bottom right blank corner is missing. Learn More about condition grades
