It's a spectacle light years ahead of its time from 20th Century Fox."; "Written and Directed by George Lucas"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia), Peter Cushing (as Grand Moff Tarkin), Alec Guinness (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Obi-Wan Kenobi), Anthony Daniels (as C-3PO), James Earl Jones (as the voice of Darth Vader), David Prowse (billed as "Dave Prowse"; as the man inside the Darth Vader suit!), Peter Mayhew (as Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (as R2-D2), and Phil Brown (as Uncle Owen) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Tom Jung Important Added Info: Note that the six sheet poster to this movie is far more rare than the smaller sizes, and we have previously auctioned an example this poster for as high as $9,102 (although admittedly, that was a very unusually high result)! Also note that this poster is stamped "FOREIGN" on the back. Starting in the very late 1960s, studios started printing two versions of three-sheets and six-sheets, one stamped "DOMESTIC" on the back, and that poster had the ratings printed on it, and the other one was stamped "FOREIGN" on the back, and that one did not have ratings (and sometimes had a different images from the domestic poster). But at some time in the early to mid 1960s, studios stopped making ones that were stamped "DOMESTIC" (likely because U.S. theaters hardly ever used them), but they continued to stamp the ones they did make "FOREIGN" on the back (surely this was a money saving idea, because they only had to print one poster that could be used everywhere). The only known Star Wars three-sheets and six-sheets have "FOREIGN" stamped on the back, and it is believed by all experts that there was no other three-sheet or six-sheet printed. This poster has "FOREIGN" stamped on the back, as do all known Star Wars six-sheets. Note that this six-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: very good. The section that was on the outside when it was fully folded has some small tears and slight darkening on part of the fold that was on the outside. They are in the upper part of the left vertical fold, but other than very tiny paper loss at that crossfold, they really have almost no effect on the front, and otherwise, the poster is in pretty nice condition (see our image).
