An Original Vintage Theatrical Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 12" x 16" [30 x 41 cm]) (Learn More)

The Painted Veil, the 1934 Richard Boleslawski romantic love triangle melodrama ("'Do not pass love by... it may never come again'"; from the novel by W. Somerset Maugham; about an Austrian couple that has a loveless marriage; the husband is a doctor who neglects his wife and she has an affair, and they go to China to fight a cholera epidemic; the wife helps her husband in his job and they start to improve their relationship) starring Greta Garbo ("The star whose flame fires the world!"), Herbert Marshall, George Brent, Warner Oland, Jean Hersholt, and Keye Luke (uncredited in his second movie role!)

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Note that this window card has been trimmed and it now measures 12" x 16" [30 x 41 cm].

Condition: fair. The card was found inside of a frame where it was used as a backing board, and it had been trimmed to 12" x 16". But fortunately, it did not affect the image of Garbo, and it only affected the "O" of "GARBO" and the "D" of "PAINTED". There were tears and areas of paper loss in the left border and a 4" tear near the middle of the right border and a 5" tear near the center of the top border, and someone put tape on the back of all the tears. The card is fragile and would greatly benefit from expert restoration. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly restored!
