An Undated (probably 1950s) Re-Release Vintage (re-titled "March of the Wooden Soldiers" for this re-release) Theater-Used Folded "Stock" Australian Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 13 1/2" x 30" [34 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) Babes in Toyland, the 1934 Gus Meins & Charles Rogers musical fantasy fairy tale comedy ("90 minutes of hilarious laughter and wonderful music!"; "1 1/2 hours of joy in the funniest picture ever made!"; "Victor Herbert's immortal, musical extravaganza"; "Their biggest full length comedy success"; based on the Victor Herbert & Glen McDonough operetta) starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy (Laurel and Hardy), Virginia Karns, Charlotte Henry, Felix Knight, William Burress, Darla Hood (the future Our Gang member, when she was just 2 1/2 years old!), and Ferdinand Munier (as Santa Claus). Note that this classic Laurel & Hardy was re-titled "March of the Wooden Soldiers" in 1950, and again re-titled (for unknown reasons!) "Revenge is Sweet" in the 1960s, with the earlier re-release title on the poster, rather than the original title! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "stock" poster created for use by theaters showing re-releases of 1930s Laurel and Hardy movies in the 1950s. Theaters would order this poster, which had a large blank area at bottom. Sometimes the studio would overprint the stock poster with the title of a specific movie, and sometimes they sent a series of large paper snipes with the titles of specific entries of the series, so the theater could paste in each snipe as needed, thus getting many posters for the price of one. Sometimes stock posters are found with blank snipe areas. Most collectors consider them more valuable with a printed snipe attached, or with an overprinted snipe area. Condition: good to very good. There is some tattering and staining around the edges of the poster and there are minor creases scattered throughout. Learn More about condition grades
