An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Queen Christina, the 1933 Rouben Mamoulian Sweden royalty doomed romance romantic melodrama ("The Secret Loves of Queen Christina"; about a Swedish Queen who falls in love with a Spaniard, but is forced to marry her cousin) starring Greta Garbo (in the title role as Queen Christina; "Garbo returns"; "Triumphant return to the screen"), John Gilbert, Ian Keith, Lewis Stone, Elizabeth Young, C. Aubrey Smith, and Reginald Owen. Note that this John Gilbert sound movie, like all his sound movies, completely dispels the myth that he had a high-pitched speaking voice, which ended his career! Actually, he had a fine speaking voice, and there is much speculation as to what it was that actually ended his career, and that can be found in various places on the Internet, but it was definitely not his voice! Also, note that after making four movies in 1931, Garbo took an 18 month break before making this her next movie, and so it was advertised as her "triumphant return to the screen".

Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card (and nine others we are offering this week) were literally found in a barn, where they had been for the past 78 years! Each of the ten cards have MAJOR condition defects, so we have provided scans of both the front of the card and the back of the card, which allow you to clearly see exactly what condition the cards are in. We are not going to describe them, because you can see what is wrong with them from our images. Note that all of the cards have darkened to different degrees, and all of them are extremely fragile. But certainly, a talented restorer can paperback the card, and after proper restoration, the card will look nice, but it will surely be expensive to restore, and will have somewhat of a "restored" look after restoration, so bear all of this in mind before you place a bid on any of these cards! Note that this is our second offering of these cards. There were ten other cards which we auctioned individually, and those closed on January 25. There were also 72 other cards in this amazing find which are from lesser titles than the 20 cards we sold individually, and we are selling those 72 cards in 12 group lots (they will start on February 3rd and close on February 10th). Sadly, there are no more of these cards after these cards are auctioned!

Condition: poor. The card has major condition issues . See our super-sized images of the front and back of the card to know exactly what is wrong with this card. Note that in the case of this card, it has significant paper loss in the bottom right.
