A 1920 Re-Release (re-titled "The She Tiger" for this re-release) Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 26 1/4" x 40 3/4" [67 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

The Love Thief (re-released in 1920 as "The She Tiger"), the 1916 Richard Stanton silent Mexico romantic love triangle melodrama (based on the novel by N.P. Niessen; a wild story about a female Mexican revolutionary leader, who goes to the U.S. to buy ammunition, and she falls in love with an American captain, but he spurns her, and she devotes her life to ruining his, and also the life of his fiancee!) starring Gretchen Hartman, Alan Hale Sr., Frances Burnham, Edward Cecil, and Willard Louis

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a 1920s re-release one-sheet, two re-release stills from this movie (and it is likely that none, or virtually none, of the 1916 paper survives)! Now that 1920s re-release one-sheet has been reconsigned to us, so this is still the only example we have ever auctioned! Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 26 1/4" x 40 3/4" [67 x 104 cm].

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had paper loss in the right 8" of the middle fold, affecting the background, the woman's arm, and part of the center of her dress. It had small areas of paper loss to the left of the top crossfold, with some small tears in the horizontal fold to the left of that and a partial extra horizontal fold 2" below the right end of the regular top fold. It had pinholes, tears, and some paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
