An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (11x14; LC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) They Drive By Night (released in England as "The Road to Frisco"), the 1940 Raoul Walsh trucker romantic love triangle action melodrama ("No picture in 1940 will have bigger thrills!"; "From a Novel by A.I. Bezzerides"; about truckers and their love lives; it stole part of its plot from "Bordertown"!) starring George Raft, Ann Sheridan, Ida Lupino, Humphrey Bogart, Alan Hale Sr., Gale Page, Roscoe Karns, John Litel, Charles Halton, Charles C. Wilson, George Tobias, and Henry O'Neill. Note that movies rarely have top stars in all four lead roles (other than MGM movies of the 1930s and early 1940s, because they had so many such stars that they could afford to do this), but this movie is kind of a rare exception. We say "kind of" because Humphrey Bogart and Ida Lupino were not yet top stars when they made this movie, but the very next movie they made was "High Sierra", which did help elevate both of them to greater stardom! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. There were several pinholes scattered in the image, including one in the girl's forehead, but none in Bogart's face. The edge of the top half of the right blank border was cut with a razor, and someone put a piece of tape on the back of that area and also three pieces of tape on the back of some of the pinholes. The card has darkened somewhat, typical of Warner Bros. linen cards of this period, but it is not at all fragile. Learn More about condition grades
