An Unfolded Autographed Artist's Proof Special Poster (measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Yoda is a science fiction (sci-fi) character created by George Lucas. He is a Jedi Master and presided over the Jedi Council prior to training Luke Skywalker. He has appeared in five movies of the Star Wars film franchise including: Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, and he was voiced by Frank Oz for all five movies. Artist: Gaoff Important Added Info: Note that this poster, which is from a limited edition of 77 (obviously created in New Orleans in 1981 for the Mardi Gras festival that year), is an "artist's proof", and it has "red issue AP/77" written at the bottom, and it has been personally autographed (signed) by the artist, Gaoff. But the poster is also autographed by George Lucas! There is a wonderful story about how it came to be signed by him. The print, which was NOT authorized by Lucasfilm, had been made in 1981. A couple of years later, Allan Trosclair, who was the head of security for Lucas from 1981 to 1985, was vacationing in New Orleans, and he saw this poster in a store there, and he purchased it, so that he could show it to George Lucas. When he returned and showed it to George Lucas, Lucas was amused by the absurd image, and chose to NOT have his legal department pursue the artist for copyright infringement! He then signed the poster and handed it back to Trosclair, who kept it ever since. A short while ago, Trosclair sold this item and others to a memorabilia store in San Francisco, and the store owner consigned them to this auction. So not only is this a really wonderful poster, but it is also signed by George Lucas, under very interesting circumstances! Condition: good to very good. The poster is printed on an unusual paper that has vertical lines in the border areas. It has small paper loss in the upper left blank border, tiny paper loss in the top right blank corner, and a few small tears in the right blank border. There are a few faint stains on the back of the poster and white spots in the right of the top and bottom edges of the top and bottom blank borders. None of these border defects are very distracting, and they will not show when the poster is framed. Learn More about condition grades
