Date Sold 2/9/2014 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 17 Original Vintage Theatrical Dutch 7 1/4" x 9 1/2" [18 x 24 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Winning, the 1969 James Goldstone automobile Indy car racing sports action thriller ("Winning... is Everything!"; "Their love, like their world is ruthless, amoral and fascinating!"; about a race car driver who is so enveloped in his career that he might lose his wife to his rival) starring Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Robert Wagner, Richard Thomas, David Sheiner, Clu Gulager, Barry Ford, Bobby Unser, Tony Hulman, Dan Gurney, and Karen Arthur. Note that this movie was originally intended to be released with a "G" rating. But it had some pretty mature sex scenes, so it was revised to an "M" rating. But the posters had already been printed with a "G" rating, so the studio put snipes over the ones that had not been sent to theaters, and sent studio-issued snipes to the theaters that had already received the posters. THOUGH ONLY EIGHT OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED, THE HIGH BIDDER ON THIS LOT WILL RECEIVE 17 STILLS FROM THIS MOVIE (but realize that on some of these lots with 9 or more stills there may be a few duplicates, mostly on post-1960 lots)! We realize there is an element of gambling to this, but we made only a small effort to find the best stills in these lots, and, if you have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on this lot unless you can accept that you are only seeing eight of the stills. Note that these stills measure 7 1/4" x 9 1/2" [18 x 24 cm], but they have not been trimmed. Condition: good to very good. Each still has a faint embossed censor stamp in a corner, and some degree of pinholes in each corner (some repaired with tape from the back).
