If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this movie had a simultaneous reserved seat premiere in New York City and London, and both were held on August 21, 1935. It did not have a wider release in the U.S. until October 25, and even then, it played in a limited number of theaters, and it was not until 1936 that it had a wide release (which is why it says on the poster "WILL NOT BE SHOWN AT POPULAR PRICES THIS YEAR!"). Note that the studio did not print "regular" posters for world premieres, because it made no sense to print large numbers of posters for a movie that would solely play at a single theater. That is why this poster was printed by the Tooker-Moore Litho Co., and it is surely incredibly rare, because likely a very small number of posters were printed, because they could only be used on this single night of August 21, and they would have no use after that date! We have only auctioned one example of this poster, and now that very same poster has been reconsigned to us for this auction, so it is still the only example we have ever auctioned! Also note that this one-sheet measures 28 1/4" x 41" [72 x 104 cm]. Also note that this poster was tri-folded only (which means there is no vertical machine fold) but because it would be more expensive to send flat, it will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: very good. The poster was tri-folded only. It has minor wear on the folds. It has creases, smudges, stains, and small tears in the upper right border. The poster had a 7" tear and a 4" tear in the top border, and those have tape on the back. It has a 4" tear near the middle of the right border that has tape on the back and a small tear near the middle of the left border that has tape on the back. It has some smudges and ink transfer in the yellow background areas, and a water stain in the "ER" of "PREMIERE" (see our image).
