An Original Vintage Sunday News Comics Page (measures 10 3/4" x 15" [27 x 38 cm]) (Learn More) Krazy Kat is an American newspaper comic strip by cartoonist George Herriman, which ran from 1913 to 1944. It first appeared in the New York Evening Journal, whose owner, William Randolph Hearst, was a major booster for the strip throughout its run. Set in a dreamlike portrayal of Herriman's vacation home of Coconino County, Arizona, Krazy Kat's mixture of offbeat surrealism, innocent playfulness and poetic, idiosyncratic language has made it a favorite of comics aficionados and art critics for more than 80 years. The strip was adapted into animated cartoons many times from 1916 to 1940 (Columbia distributed them from 1929 to 1939). AND Grin and Bear It was a newspaper comic strip created by George Lichtenstein under the pen name George Lichty. Lichty created Grin and Bear it in 1932 and it ran 83 years until 2015, making it the 10th-longest-running comic strip in American history. For his Sunday feature, George Lichty sometimes grouped four cartoons into a layout of two horizontal cartoons between a circular panel and a vertical panel. Artist: George Herriman/George Lichty Important Added Info: Note that this comic page measures 10 3/4" x 15", so it will need to be sent in a slightly larger than normal flat package. Please bear this in mind before bidding. Also note that the front and back of this page have different comics, so we have pictured both sides, but of course the auction is for a single Sunday comic page. Condition: good to very good.
