An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Loves of Carmen, the 1927 Raoul Walsh silent romantic melodrama (loosely based on the classic opera by Bizet) starring Dolores Del Rio (in the title role as Carmen), Victor McLaglen, Don Alvarado, Nancy Nash, and Jack Baston. Note that Raoul Walsh had been an actor since the mid 1910s, and also was directing movies at the same time. In 1928, soon after this movie was made, he had a car accident that resulted in him losing an eye, and that caused him to quit acting and solely focus on directing (and he wore an eyepatch the rest of his life).

Important Added Info: Note that ANY U.S. movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a one-sheet (27 years ago), two lobby cards, a herald, and a few stills from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this lobby card, which has a completely different scene from the two we previously auctioned! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: fair to good. The card was lightly folded vertically just left of center, running through McLaglen's image. There is paper loss in each corner, with some creases, smudges, and stains scattered in the card. Please look at our super-sized images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this card before placing a bid.
