Artist: Josh Kirby
Important Added Info: Note that there are two versions of the original theatrical British Quad which feature art by Josh Kirby, and contain the same main elements (Han, Luke, Leia, Vader, etc). The more common "action style" features an exploding sandskiff, Boba Fett firing his weapon, Imperial Guards, and more. The less common "ewok style" is missing those elements but features an ewok below Han Solo. We have heard that the "ewok style" was not considered exciting enough, and Kirby added the other elements at the request of the studio. To make things more complicated, both of these styles have variants with and without tiny white borders, which changes the size of the poster slightly (from 30x40 to around 31x41). Finally, there is also a 27x40 variant of the "action style" that was created in that size for use in the London Underground.

Note that this special "all Star Wars" auction began with a phone call from a VERY long time collector of Star Wars posters! He told us that he had reached a point in his life where he was wanting to sell his collection, and he asked if we could do it all at one time. Because he had 174 posters (including many of the most rare and desirable ones), we were happy to comply, but we told him that we would like to also add additional rare Star Wars posters from other collectors, and he agreed, and after we were consigned an additional 117 posters and related items, we have our auction!

We asked the person who assembled the amazing collection of 174 posters in this auction to share with us a written history of how he came to assemble this amazing collection, and if you CLICK HERE, you will be taken to a separate page that shows you what he wrote for us!

Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has fine horizontal creases scattered in various areas (see our image) and there are a few tears at upper center and in portions of the right edge. Despite these defects the poster will display pretty well from a reasonable viewing distance.
