Date Sold 6/9/2024Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. A Hardcover Bound Volume of Original Vintage Comic Books (measures approximately 7 1/2" x 10 1/2" [19 x 27 cm]; 340 pages) (Learn More) Dell Comics Bound Volume, the hardcover collection of comic books published by the Dell Publishing Company. Dell Publishing is a publisher of books, magazines and comic books which was founded in 1921 by George T. Delacorte Jr. Important Added Info: Note that this is a bound volume of five Four Color Comics (#15 through #19) published by Dell Publishing. Apparently, someone at the company had bound volumes like these created, likely soon after the comics were published (this bound volume has the names of the individual comics contained within printed in bold on the spine of the bound volume). This bound volume has four comics in it: Felix the Cat (Four Color #15), Porky Pig (Four Color #16), Popeye and Wimpy (Four Color #17), and Little Orphan Annie's Junior Commandos (Four Color #18), and Thumper Meets the Seven Dwarfs (Four Color #19). Our consignor obtained this many decades ago when Dell Publishing was doing some "house cleaning"! The comic books are extremely fragile and darkened around the edges. The covers are not quite as fragile, because they were printed on better paper. Please note that we don't use a "comic guide" grading system, and OUR grading scale is completely different from standard comic book grading. Our "very good" is completely different from a comic book graded "very good". We provide images of the comic book covers, plus 2 interior 2-page spreads, which should allow you to get a sense of the condition of this comic book. Note: We have 12 images of this bound volume of comic books, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 12 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 2. Note that due to the greater interest in this comic we have pictured EVERY single page of this comic, which means that you can see EVERY defect the comic has, AND get a good sense of its condition. While we gave the comic an overall condition grade (and sometimes describe the defects in words) please rely on the actual images of the comic to help you decide what YOU think its condition is, and then bid or not bid based on what you are seeing in the images. And if you have ANY doubt as to what the condition of the comic is, or whether you want it in the condition it is is, then please do not bid, as we do not want any retracted bids or returns if at all possible. If in doubt, do not bid!. Condition: fair to good. The bound volume surely originally contained comic books in excellent condition, but due to how they were stored, they are fragile and brown around the edges, AND THIS BOUND VOLUME HAS DARKER AND MORE FRAGILE PAGES THAN THE OTHERS WE ARE AUCTIONING. Also, Four Color #16 (Porky) has small tears and tiny paper loss in the right edges of several pages, and a few other issues slightly have this problem. The covers are not nearly as fragile, because they were printed on better paper. Look closely at our images before bidding on this bound volume of very rare comic books. Please bear all of the above in mind before bidding on this bound volume. Learn More about condition grades
