An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Autographed Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Night of the Living Dead, the classic 1968 George A. Romero & John A. Russo end-of-the-world science fiction (sci-fi) walking-dead undead zombie horror thriller ("They won't stay dead!"; "They keep coming back in a bloodthirsty lust for human flesh!... Pits the dead against the living in a struggle for survival!") starring Judith O'Dea, Duane Jones, Marilyn Eastman, Karl Hardman, Judith Ridley, Kyra Schon, Charles Craig, Keith Wayne, Randy Burr, S. William Hinzman (billed as "Bill Heinzman"; as the graveyard zombie), George A. Romero (the director, as one of the Washington reporters!), Russell Streiner, Ella Mae Smith, Dick Heckard, John Kirch, Paula Richards, George Kosana, John Russo, Richard Ricci, and Terry Gindele NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster (which is FAR more rare than the first release one-sheets on this title) has been personally autographed (signed) by THREE people: director George A. Romero, Bill Hinzman, AND Judith O'Dea! Our consignor obtained these autographs in person in 2008 at the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors at the L.A. Convention Center, where these celebrities attended. Our consignor does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are 100% certain all of the signatures are authentic (and of course, George Romero and Hinzman are no longer with us, making their autographs even more desirable). Our consignor sent a flyer from the event, and it will be sent to the winner of this auction on request. Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thicker paper backing, it CAN'T be sent rolled (someone could conceivably roll it or try to do so, but we think it would have a strong chance of lessening its condition, so we will only send it in a very large flat package, unless the buyer insists, and then they would be responsible for any damage). What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had tiny creases along both folds, with some creases scattered near the folds and some in the middle right edge of the image below the pointing hand and extending down to the waist of the girl being grabbed. It also had a 2" vertical crease in the left black background area between the the first "D" of "DEAD" and the top tagline, and there were some scuffs in the lower left black background area. There were a few scuffs in the title. There was a 1 1/2" tear in the lower left border and two tiny tears in the right border. There were some smudges around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was nicely paperbacked, and excellent restoration was performed to the above defects. You can see them when you look closely at the poster, especially if you tilt it to the light, but from a reasonable viewing distance, it displays really well. However, bear the above in mind before bidding on this really cool and rare poster! Learn More about condition grades
